“I believe the most radical thing you can do for your mental health is redesign the conditions for it to grow”
My Approach
The framework I've been developing applies permaculture's ethics and design principles to mental health, across every zone of a person's life, from Zone 00, the individual nervous system, out to Zone 6, the village and the systems of care around them.
Most permaculture designers map Zones 1 to 5. I expand the frame inward and outward, because a well-designed system doesn't hold much if the person, or the service, at its centre is running on empty.
Grounded in science. Rooted in care. Sparked by creativity and coffee.
Current research
My PhD research at Southern Cross University examines how, why and for whom permaculture's design principles and ethics can inform model of care within mental health and social prescribing.
